Yes, the Michigan Real Estate Academy is licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth and Proprietary School Unit (License No. 19830015) to offer both real estate sales, appraisal, and continuing education courses for licensees. The Michigan Real Estate Academy has been continuously licensed by the Department since 1983.
 

What are the requirements for a real estate salesperson license?
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth has three primary requirements for a real estate salesperson license: (1) Education (2) Examination (3) Application
(1) Education – 40 clock hours of education in a classroom setting are required to obtain a real estate salesperson license. 4 of the 40 required hours must include Equal Opportunity in Housing and Civil Rights Law.
(2) Examination – All license candidates must successfully complete and pass the Michigan Real Estate Salesperson exam administered by PSI Exams(www.psiexams.com) prior to application for the real estate salesperson license.
(3) Application – Upon successful completion of both the required education and examination, license candidates may make application for the real estate salesperson license. (Applicants will need a sponsor/broker at the time that they make application for the license)

 

How much does the Licensing Exam cost and how can I register?
The licensing exam cost $48.00 and examinees may register by contacting PSI Exams by phone (800) 733-9267 or by visiting the website at
www.psiexams.com. Exam brochures are also available at the Michigan Real Estate Academy office.

 
Does the Michigan Real Estate Academy offer training to obtain the real estate salesperson license?
Yes, the Michigan Real Estate Academy provides real estate salesperson pre-licensure education through the Real Estate I course.
 
What is the cost to attend the Real Estate I Class?
Tuition (Text and all required materials are included in the cost of tuition for this program.)
Pre-registration $255.00 (Considered not less than 5 full business days before the start of a scheduled class)
Walk-in Fee: $10 (applied to all registrations received after the pre-registration deadline)
 
How often is the Real Estate One class offered?
The Real Estate One class is offered monthly in a day format. Day classes meet on Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
 
Will the Michigan Real Estate Academy help me find employment after I complete the required training?
No, the Michigan Real Estate Academy will not assist students in securing a position within a real estate firm.
 
What am Iallowed to do with my real estate license?
Licensed real estate salespersons are allowed to list properties for sale and assist buyers in the purchase of property under the supervision of a real estate broker.
